Watch What Jesus Does

Watch What Jesus Does – Joseph Prince Ministries

Luke 1:37; “For with God nothing will be impossible.”

You may have heard from friends or seen in Christian books the popular question, “What would Jesus do?” It is a question Christians are taught to ask themselves when faced with a problem.

But when you ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?” in any situation, it is subject to your own interpretation and theology. For example, if you are from a church that doesn’t believe that Jesus heals today, you may think that this is how Jesus would pray for the sick, “O Father, give him patience to endure his sufferings,” and proceed to pray that way for a sick person. So when you try to think of what Jesus would do, you are going back to your flesh!

Maybe the reminder should be, “Watch what Jesus does”. When I preach, I watch what Jesus is doing or leading me to do. If He prompts me to say or do something, I say or do it. I know that I am not in the pulpit to manifest Pastor Prince or his flesh, but to manifest Jesus Christ, with whom nothing is impossible!

One Sunday service, prompted by God, I shared with the congregation that He wanted to restore lost items. The following week, a church member wrote, “Last Sunday, Pastor Prince, you mentioned that the Lord would help us recover lost items. I knew that the word was for me. My diamond bracelet and ring had been missing for weeks…Praise God, when I returned home that day, my maid placed the lost items in my hands. She found them at 10.30 that morning while I was still worshiping in church.”

On another occasion, I was praying for a wheelchair-bound lady when I felt God telling me to pull her up from her wheelchair. Boy, was I glad that before I realized what I was doing, she was standing up on her feet unaided! Now, if I had taken some time to think—“My goodness, what am I doing?”—my thinking could have obstructed my obedience to God’s prompting.

So when you are led to talk to someone, watch what Jesus does. When you pray for your child, watch what Jesus does. When you confess God’s Word into your situation, watch what Jesus does! Keep your eyes on Jesus, with whom nothing is impossible!

Pray for Christian Mother Sentenced to Death for Apostasy

[170] prayers in [19] nations have been posted for Meriam Yahia Ibrahim.

A 27-year-old Sudanese woman, Meriam Yahia Ibrahim, was sentenced to death in early May for apostasy. Eight months pregnant at the time of her sentencing, she gave birth to a baby girl on May 26. Ibrahim explained to the court that she had grown up as a Christian under her Christian mother’s care, but the court convicted her of apostasy because her father is Muslim. In addition, she is to receive 100 lashes for a charge of adultery, relating to her 2011 marriage to a South Sudanese Christian man. Since Ibrahim’s father is Muslim, the marriage is not recognized under Sharia law. Her own family filed the complaint about her marriage, resulting in the charges. The court gave her three days to recant her Christian faith, but she refused to do so. Ibrahim’s 20-month old son, Martin, and newborn daughter the couple named Maya, will be held in prison with her until her execution.

Prayers That Proclaim

Prayers That Proclaim – Joseph Prince Ministries

Luke 13:12; But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”

When you have a need, do you pray or do you plead? Do you begin your prayers with words like, “Please God, please! God, I beg You to have mercy!”

Prayers that plead and beg imply that your heavenly Father is not willing to do it. Yet, He is far more gracious and willing to give to you than you are willing to ask, think or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20) He desires above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)

In fact, long before you have a need, God has already met that need. Long before you knew you needed a Savior, He sent His Son to be your Savior. This is your God! He is a good God. So when you beg Him for something, you are actually saying that He is reluctant to give and needs to be persuaded strongly before He will move. Yet, He is not like that.

Jesus knew the heart of the Father. When He saw the woman bound with a spirit of infirmity, He did not pray, “Oh Father! She has been suffering for 18 long years! I beseech You, Father, have mercy on her. Please, please heal her!” No, when Jesus saw her, He immediately proclaimed, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity,” because He knew the heart of the Father. He knew that the Father wanted her delivered from her crippling condition.

At the end of a church service, I don’t stand and pray, “Oh God, please bless Your people. Oh God, do keep them. Oh God, be ever so gracious to them!” Instead, I proclaim, “The Lord bless you. The Lord keep you. The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you!”

Beloved, when you pray, proclaim your healing, protection and provision because your Father’s heart overflows with love for you. And when you declare it, He sanctions it. When you declare it, He establishes it!

INDIA: House Church Attacked in Karnataka On Jan. 24, Hindu radicals attacked a group of house-church believers at a one-day prayer meeting in Karnataka. The leader of the house church, Pastor Anand, has ministered in the area for more than three years, and the house church is attended by about 10 families.

At about 4 p.m., six hours after the prayer meeting began, Hindu radicals arrived at the house church and interrupted the meeting by shouting at the believers. They snatched Bibles from believers’ hands, tearing some of them up and taking others away. They beat some of the Christians and took them to the police station.

Pastor Anand as well as another pastor and four other believers were charged with forced conversions. The men were detained overnight and released the following afternoon. The case is ongoing.

Please Pray! Pray that all charges will be dropped against these believers and that their work for God’s kingdom will not be thwarted. Pray for their protection as well as that of their families. Pray for the salvation of the Hindu radicals.

“Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.” Is. 8:10

Quality Prayer

QUALITY PRAYER – From Andrew Wommack Ministries

Matthew 6:7, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”

MATTHEW 6:5-8

Some of the most effective prayers are the shortest prayers. Jesus said, “Peace, be still,” and the wind and the waves ceased (Mk. 4:39). He said, “Lazarus, come forth,” and Lazarus came back from the dead (Jn. 11:43-44).

Today, there is a new emphasis on the quantity of prayer instead of the quality of prayer. Jesus never advocated long prayers, and there are only a few instances where Jesus prayed long prayers. This is not to say that communion with God is not important. It certainly is, but formal prayer is only one part of our communion with the Lord.

Psalm 5:1-2 uses the words “prayer” and “meditation” interchangeably. Therefore, communing with God through keeping your mind stayed on the things of the Lord is also prayer. There are also times in prayer when we need to be still and know that God is God (Ps. 46:10).

Many times we ask the Lord to speak to us, but He can’t get a word in “edge-wise.” We’re doing all the talking.

CHINA: Free Gao Zhisheng

Feb. 4 marked the five-year anniversary of the disappearance of Christian attorney Gao Zhisheng. The Chinese government has tried to silence him since  2005 because of his work defending persecuted Christians in China. Gao’s wife and two children, who were also abused and tormented by the police, escaped to the United States in March 2009 and were later granted political refugee status. Gao reappeared briefly in March 2010 but disappeared again after spending a weekend visiting relatives. In March 2012, it was learned that Gao was being held at the Shaya prison in a remote part of Xinjiang, in far western China. Gao’s older brother and father-in-law have visited him, but it has been more than a year since Gao’s family has been allowed to contact him, even though they and the attorneys they have hired to represent Gao have made numerous attempts.
